Check out this other letter written to my future spouse.

If you’ve been following along with all of what’s been going down here at BooRocka Productions, you know there’s a ton of cool stuff on the horizon. Digital Paintings, Just Joel extras, ArmE of One and others. But there is one other that I’d like to briefly touch on that often excites me more than all the rest and that’s The OutterLands.
Pre-dating the Just Joel webcomic by years, The OutterLands is an epic adventure that I’ve been developing and is about ready for production. The format through which this story will be told is what excites me most. I’ve neither seen nor read anything like it. The best way for me to describe it is a cross between a graphic novel, video game guidebook and children’s book.
In wanting to flex my artistic muscles, this project will be less cartoony that what you see here at Just Joel. The visual style that I will be employing is a combination of Sean “Cheeks” Galloway’s artistic style (click HERE for an example of his work) and a Disney-esque style that’s been mixed in with my own filter.
I’m so very excited to finally bring this project into reality. However, with all that I currently have on my plate, I must first finish what I’ve got in front of me now.
But just as a teaser for what’s eventually to come (oh PLEASE let it be sooner rather than later!), here’s a sneak peak at the cover for issue one:

It’s amazing what mental conditioning can do. I am completely unable to read anything (entertaining or not) for an extended period of time without falling asleep. True story.
The only time I ever got picked first as a kid was when all the boys decided to play the win, lose or draw board game at a sleep over. Good times. Err… good time as it were.
In grade school, I LOVED loose leaf paper. Although having this kind of paper is no longer applicable to my adult life, I still feel that small urge to buy some whenever Back To School time comes around. To me loose leaf paper held the potential for all sorts of fun: paper airplanes, those mini triangles you flicked around for a football game and of course spitballs! (ewww!)
It is in this spirit of school time nostalgia that I present Just Joel Designer Loose Leaf Paper for FREE! Whether you’re in school or not, each of these fun pages will come in various colors as well as a quote and image of that lovable rascal Joelly Boy. Get the word out or pass them along to those who are in school!

Not sure what is meant in the 1st panel by 100%? Well it’s simple! For example, if your total bill at a restaurant (before tax) amounts to $50 then you’d tip $50. However, this is extremely rare. The set gratuity is 17%, your server is always hoping for an even 20% (which is a $10 tip on a $50 dollar ticket).
Seem to much to ask for? Well in most states, a server is paid $2.35 per hour. Just enough to cover taxes meaning that their actual income is made up of whatever tips they get. Just some food for thought.
I saw the empty, discarded Crest 3D toothpaste box. It had been discarded in that tiny bathroom garbage can at my parent’s house. And this is what formulated in my mind.
